POP3 (Post Office Protocol) Mail is the most common mail access protocol that allows your email client (Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Eudora, Netscape Messenger, etc.) to download your email messages to your computer so that you can read them later without being connected to the Internet. This feature is especially important if your connection time is chargeable.

Step-by-Step Guide
To setup a POP3 email access from Opera/9.00, here's a step-by-step guide:
Launch Opera/9.00
Click Tools, select Mail and chat accounts... 
Click Add... button.
Select Regular e-mail (POP) as the kind of account. Click Next > 
Fill in your user details. Click Next > 
Fill in your login name (same as your email address) and password. Click Next > 
Fill in the mail server name. Both the incoming and outgoing mail server is mail.[YourDomainName], eg. mail.geromail.com if your domain name is geromail.com. 
To clear the emails from the mail server after retrieving it, uncheck the settings 'Leave messages on server'.
Click Finish
Click Close
