Online Guide - Starting Ecommerce Website
If you have certain marketable products or services, consider selling them online. To sell online, you need the following additional components on your website:
- Product Catalog.
Display your products and/or services with details and prices on your website. A 'Buy' button or 'Add to Shopping Cart' button is to be shown so that shoppers can select their choice of purchase.
- Shopping Cart.
This component enables the system to remember your shoppers' choice of purchase.
- Checkout.
A payment system for your shoppers to make payment. For online payment with credit cards, a payment gateway is required.
- Order Followup.
You need to know when a shopper has placed an order on your website so that you can take action to fulfill the order request.
