Updating The Website
After you have registered your domain name and configured your name servers from the hosting service, your website is now visible on the Internet.
To update the website, you will need a tool to upload your website source files and images to the web server.
Uploading Tools
To upload your website scripts and images, you will need a FTP software to do this.
A popular FTP solution is the FileZilla, an open source software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
You can download FileZilla at http://filezilla-project.org/download.php.
For the FTP to work, you need to configure the FTP software with the following settings provided by your hosting company:
- FTP server
- Login ID
- Login Password
Prototyping Tools
There are also tools available to simplify the creation and updating of website. Some of the well known prototyping tools are:
- Microsoft Frontpage
- Dreamweaver
These tools offers you a graphical interface with WYSIWYG style, integrated with FTP uploading capability.
