IMAP is a mail access protocol that allows you to access and manage your mail from the server without downloading the mail.

Step-by-Step Guide

To setup a IMAP mail access for Mozilla Thunderbird, here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Launch Mozilla Thunderbird


  2. Click Tools, select Account Settings...

    Click Add Account...


  3. Type of account is Email Account. Click Next >

  4. Fill in your name and email address. Click Next >

  5. Select IMAP as the type of incoming server.

    Key in the incoming server eg. mail.geromail.com, mail.yourdomain.com, etc.

    Click Next >

  6. Key in a name for this account to be created. Click Next >

  7. Click Finish

  8. Click OK

  9. Right-click on the newly created account and select Subscribe
